Infrastructure Construction Expertise
Construction of Ship Berths, Docks, and Piers
The successful completion of several high-profile berth construction projects by our staff has provided us with unmatched experience in the construction of berths and marinas.
We are primarily experienced in the construction of:
- Concrete Block Quay Walls; casting and installation up to 160 tons in weight and a water depth up to -24 m
- Boat Slipways
- Mobile Travel Lift Jetties
- Casting of suspended capping beams above piles and repair of existing jackets.
Rock Installation, Breakwater and Riprapping
At Modern Marine, we have the capability and expertise to install breakwaters and shore protection using rocks up to 6 tons. Our specialized excavators are mounted with grabs in order to accelerate the installation rate.
Our own fleet of equipment gives us the opportunity to not only transport the appropriate material but also to prepare the site for placement efficiently and effectively.

Excavation / Dredging Works
Over the years, MMC has participated in several varieties of dredging and backfilling work. Our specialties cover the following:
- Dredging using excavators (bucket, grabs, underwater jack hammers, transverse hydraulic drum cutter)
- Dredging using crane grabs (mechanical and hydraulic). Onshore and mounted on barge
- Dredge Pumps (electric and hydraulic)
- Air Lifting
- Backfilling underwater
- Leveling of seabed
- Transportation and handling of excavated material
- Installation of the Silt Curtain during the dredging works.
Beach Construction and Maintenance Works
Beach sand can appear fairly uniform, but it is actually a complex mixture of substances with various dimensions. Sand grain size and its composition can impact the appearance of the beach and the comfort of swimmers. MMC has developed over the years the necessary experience to provide its customers with pristine beach nourishment with top-quality beach sand through screening and sand washing.
Our activities are performed with the utmost environmental controls to ensure that they do not harm the fragile ecosystem.
Screening of sand can be performed on imported or dredged material.
Maintenance and Replacement of Fenders and Bollards
Aged and deteriorated fenders and bollards can result in damage to ships and boats. Our team, along with our prestigious international distributors, can supply new fenders and bollards. At Modern Marine, we are able to remove or replace concrete, perform concrete coring, and install new bolts with chemical anchors.
Pipeline and Sea Outfall Launching
One of our fields of expertise is pipeline and sea outfall launching of different types (GRP, HDPE, and steel), as well as the installation of all related accessories such as flexible hoses, mooring sets, and marker buoys.
Installation of Offshore Buoys / Aids to Navigation
Our experienced and qualified teams are able to supply and install floating buoys anchored to the seabed by chains that are secured to concrete blocks or anchor piles. Our divers are able to install offshore buoys up to a water depth of 60 meters.
We specialize in the installation of:
- Navigation buoys
- Barrier floating buoys (Demarcation)
- Mooring buoys
- Light buoys (Night navigation / channels)
- Lanterns and solar recharging panels
- Installation of AIS & radar reflectors
Offshore / Onshore Driven Pile Installation
Our team has over 25 years of experience in the installation of onshore and offshore piles using impact and vibro hammers.
Pile Drivability Analysis, Pile Installation Template Design, and Construction. Installation of driven piles made of steel, wood, pre-stressed concrete, and composite.
Our portfolio includes the installation of tubular piles, H-beams, tapered piles, sheet pile walls, and combi-walls.
Our experience also includes the casting of suspended coping beams above piles and for pile jackets.
Underwater Repair / Zink Anode Installation
With our professional and motivated commercial divers, we can conduct several types of U/W repair, such as ship hull, rudder, propeller repair, pipelines, cathodic protection, maintenance and replacement of pipeline sections, flexible hoses, power plant water intake, etc.
